Legend has it that once upon a time\, mermaids were spotted at this location blending into the alluring emerald green pools nestled in the lush Matura Forest. A refreshing forest walk through towering Mora and Pine trees\, through which the occasional cool forest breeze brushes past your face\, takes you down to the Matura River where a small upriver trek leads to a series of 3 picturesque pools\, large\, deep and refreshing. The perfect playground for the nature lover\, kids and kids at heart. Come discover the mysteries of the Mermaid Pools with us! This hike is one of the simplest treks making it quite the ideal hike and great fun for the entire family. \n  \nHIKE INFORMATION:\n• Location of start of hike: Matura\n• Approximate start time of hike: 8:30 am\n• Approximate end of hike: 1:30 pm \n  \n• Difficulty Rating (1= very easy\, 10 = very strenuous): 2 /10 \n• Intensity: Easy\n• Hike Duration: \n  \no Time going: 30-45 mins\no Time at destination: 1 – 3 hours\no Time returning: 30-45 mins \n  \n• Terrain Description: Walk along a wide gravel road of mild incline for about 10-15 mins until a diversion onto the forest trail which will take us downhill though beautiful Pine and Mora forests to first set of pools and\, then we cross the river to head upriver to get to the 2 additional pools (about 10 mins from the 1st set of pools) before returning to the vehicles. Bring out the entire family\, or tag along with your friends\, and we promise you won’t regret it. \nRampanalgas falls\, located just before Toco\, is a great spot for the family\, as well as adventure seekers. There are separate waterfalls for those who would like to bask in shallow waters\, and another deep pool at the base of the second waterfall. \n  \nDate: Sunday 24th March 2024 \nRating: 2.3/10 (Easy) \nEstimated time one way: 30 mins \nMeeting Point: 7:00 am [MT HOPE Car Park] \n–We leave for Rampanalgas by 7:30 am– \n  \nA short list of items you should walk with will be posted. \nLifejackets will be provided\, but if you have\, feel free to walk with them. \nContribution: $75 per person (Personal Vehicle)\nTransport: $160 per person \n  \nPayment can be made via two options:\n1) At any Republic Bank branch using an “ALL PURPOSE DEPOSIT VOUCHER” to account # 800 005 344 731. \nA picture of your receipt MUST be sent to either the LTW page or WhatsApp #620-5519 for confirmation.\n2) Online Banking Payment to the same account mentioned above. \n  \nANY CANCELLATIONS ON THE DAY INCURS A FULL FEE. \n  \nRegistration can be done by:\n1) Messaging the Living the Wilderness page\n2) Call / Message / WhatsApp 620-5519 –(Yogesh) OR\n754-6658 –(Karishma)\n3) Email livingthewilderness@gmail.com \nYou can give the following details when registering:\n1.
