DESCRIPTION:Many of the ruins of sugar works so far recorded in Tobago do not have hardware in situ.\nMills\, waterwheels\, stills and apparatuses for the production of rum\, mechanisms and parts were removed to be traded as scrap iron and for other use. \n  \nA recent visit to Grenada gave us the opportunity to document how they looked like and their functions. \n  \nGabriele will be showing photos taken at the plantations in Grenada with details and explanations.

Leaving promptly at 8am. \nDrive time: 45mins. \nLocated deep within the remote forest of Guanapo lies this adventure. Our drive takes us along the dusty\, gravel roadway into the Guanapo quarry. \nThe hike begins along a dirt road until we reach the Guanapo River. It continues up as we cross many smaller pools then up the Tombasson tributary. \nThis river takes us up a series of small gorges\, pools and waterfalls until we meet the main feature of the adventure. \nEvent may be canceled due to inclement weather conditions or insufficient participation. \nLife jackets will be provided. \nWaterproofing of valuables are highly recommended.
