DESCRIPTION:Caribbean School of Dancing (CSD) founded in 1957\, proudly celebrates 65 years of history\, artistic excellence and community. Their dance education students have the opportunity to develop additional skills in Hip Hop\, Jazz\, Contemporary\, Choreography\, and Creative Dance.  \nOne of the major highlights of the CSD experience is Fantasy In Dance. A school show where teachers put their choreographic skills into practice\, creating pieces that follow the theme/storyline of the show. Fantasy In Dance allows students to take the classroom to the stage\, showcasing their technique\, and performance qualities and sharing their passion for dance with the audience.  \nTheir lower school brings to life Disney’s Encanto with choreography by CSD Principal Bridgette Wilson and teachers Anaïs Hinds\, Carol Yip Choy\, Cretia Lewis\, Terry Springer\, Yanick Best\, Maria Davis and Mercedes Prevatt.  \nTheir upper school will present an exciting and immersive ballet with a Caribbean twist entitled Xyon’s Heart. Honouring our school’s history of collaboration\, this story is written by Muhammad Muwakil of Freetown Collective and features costumes by Valmiki Maharaj of The Lost Tribe. Xyon’s Heart features choreography by Bridgette Wilson\, Mercedes Prevatt\, Anaïs Hinds and Terry Springer.  \nThe school’s company Metamorphosis Dance Company will also perform a selection of works at this celebratory event. Although both stories may appear to be different\, they each have one common denominator – love as a unifying force.
