Definitely a bucket list item and a great experience for families and kids. The day starts with catching the boat in Chaguaramas to Gasparee Island/Gaspar Grande where we explore the Gasparee Caves with its breathtaking Blue Grotto and the WWII guns higher up on the island. We then hop from Gasparee Island to Monos Island where we take a short 10 min walk along a wide concreted path to the beautiful Biscayne Bay where we spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing\, swimming\, playing cricket\, football and enjoying a well deserved DDI beach day! \n  \n???? ???????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????\n• Location of event: Down De Islands off Chaguaramas\n• Approximate start of event: 8:30 am\n• Approximate end of hike: 3 pm\n• Difficulty Rating: 2 out of 10 (1= very easy\, 10 = very strenuous)\n• Intensity: Easy \n  \n• Event Duration:\no Boat times going & coming: 15 mins from Chaguaramas to Gaspar Grande\, 20 mins from Gaspar Grande to Monos Island\, 30 mins from Monos Island to Chaguaramas\no Time at destinations: Gaspar Grande 3 hours\, Monos Island 2-3 hours \n  \nTerrain Description:\nFrom the jetty on Gaspar Grande\, it is a 15-20 min walk along an undulating concrete path to the visitor center. There is the option to take a half hour detour to go explore the World War II guns situated on the island. From the visitor center\, we descent 100 feet into the caves via a staircase where a one hour tour of the caves will be done. SUMMARY:Hike to Turure Watertep (kid friendly) - Easy Hike
DESCRIPTION:????️????????????????????????????????????????????: Turure Watersteps\, Cumaca River\, Valencia \n  \n???????????????????????? ????????????????????????????:\nOne of our most enjoyable hikes yet! This destination is as magical as it is breathtaking. Within the forests of Cumaca lies a series of three beautiful spread type waterfalls\, where curtains of water cascade down limestone faces. These waterfalls are immediately after each other along the Turure River. At the base of each waterfall is a pool that invites you to take a swim. The third waterfall has several pools as the limestone forms a firm base for the river as it flows downstream. Here the pools are of varying depth with some being very shallow and some being deep enough to take the plunge off the top of the limestone rocks. \n  \n???? ???????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????:\no Difficulty Rating: Level 3/10 \no Intensity: Easy to fair \no Duration (one way): 40 mins to 1 hour \no Terrain Description: A relatively easy hike (dependent on one’s fitness) through the forest. There is 1 moderate uphill climb about 10 mins into the hike. The majority of the hike is along trails that run either parallel to or along the river. We cross the river at a few shallow points & no more than 2 feet\, at these crossings\, your shoes will get wet. The trail usually has parts that will be muddy if there was any rain the week prior to this hike and the roots and rocks can be slippery therefore shoes/sneakers with good grips are highly recommended (NO CROCS\, NO SANDALS\, NO BAREFOOT\, NO CONVERSE/CONVERSE STYLED SHOES). There is no mandatory swimming involved in this hike unless you decide to swim at the destination. \n  \no Location of start of hike: Cumaca\, Valencia\no Approximate start time of hike: 7:30 am\no Time at destination: 30 – 45 mins\no Approximate end of hike: 1-2 pm \n  \nThese times are based on average driving & hiking times and can vary based on traffic\, the fitness of the group and how fast we move\, the amount of rest stops taken\, any unforeseen variations in the terrain (e.g. fallen trees)\, the weather etc. \n  \n???? ???????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????:\nAssembly area: The Food Basket Compound\, Corner O’Meara Road & Churchill Roosevelt Highway\, Arima (under the Super 99 sign)\nAssembly Time: 6:30 am\nDeparture Time from Assembly Point: 7 am\nWhen you arrive at the assembly point\, please locate our hike leaders\, attired in red\, black and orange Palance868 T-shirts. Here you must sign our attendance register with an emergency contact included\, get a wristband and a vehicle ribbon tag. We DO NOT park at this registration point. It is a central location for registration and from where hikers can follow the Palance868 to the start of the hike. The group will then be briefed on the drive to the start of the hike. We depart as a group and drive in convoy style to the start of the hike\, where we will park our vehicles and do any official briefing to commence the hike. \n  \n???? ????????????????:\nTT $75 per hiker\n(Transportation is NOT provided\, patrons are responsible for their personal transportation arrangements to and from the hike. Located in the forest of Matura\, this destination is one of the lesser known hiking locations which makes it a great bucket list item for the avid adventurer. ????️✨ \n  \n???? ???????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????:\n• Location of start of hike: Matura\n• Approximate start of hike: 8:30 am\n• Approximate end of hike: 2 pm\n• Difficulty Rating: 3 out of 10 (1= very easy\, 10 = very strenuous)\n• Intensity: Easy to Fair\n• Hike Duration:\no Time going: 1 hour\no Time at destinations: 1 – 2 hours\no Time returning: 1 hour\nTerrain Description: The trek takes us along a river walk from where we are parked then through picturesque forests that beautifully shade both sides of the river making the walk cool and enjoyable. To get to the upper pools and waterfall\, you will get wet swimming through the gorges and first pool so please be sure to palce anything that cannot get wet into waterproof containers/bags. For the more adventurous hiker\, there is the option to climb to various levels of the waterfalls.\nAll quoted times are based on average driving & hiking times and can vary based on traffic\, the fitness of the group and how fast we move\, the amount of rest stops taken\, any unforeseen variations in the terrain (e.g. fallen trees)\, the weather etc. \n  \n???? ???????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????:\nAssembly area: The Food Basket Compound\, Corner O’Meara Road & Churchill Roosevelt Highway\, Arima (under the Super 99 sign)\nAssembly Time: 6:30 am\nDeparture Time from Assembly Point: 7 am \nWhen you arrive at the assembly point\, please locate our hike leaders\, attired in red\, black and orange Palance868 T-shirts. Here you must sign our attendance register with an emergency contact included\, get a wristband and a vehicle ribbon tag. We DO NOT park at this registration point. It is a central location for registration and from where hikers can follow the Palance868 to the start of the hike. The group will then be briefed on the drive to the start of the hike. We depart as a group and drive in convoy style to the start of the hike\, where we will park our vehicles and do any official briefing to commence the hike. \n  \n???? ????????????????:\nTT $100 per hiker \n(Transportation is NOT provided\, patrons are responsible for their personal transportation arrangements to and from the hike. Comfortable footwear\, sneakers with good grips or hiking boots are a MUST! (Check for any signs of it unsticking or dry rotting). Personal Medication\n9. A comfortable backpack (with 2 straps) leaving your hands free to navigate trail help or a friend\n10. Leaving promptly at 8am. \nDrive time: 45mins. \nLocated deep within the remote forest of Guanapo lies this adventure. Our drive takes us along the dusty\, gravel roadway into the Guanapo quarry. \nThe hike begins along a dirt road until we reach the Guanapo River. It continues up as we cross many smaller pools then up the Tombasson tributary. \nThis river takes us up a series of small gorges\, pools and waterfalls until we meet the main feature of the adventure. \nEvent may be canceled due to inclement weather conditions or insufficient participation. \nLife jackets will be provided. \nWaterproofing of valuables are highly recommended.
