The Maritime 10th Anniversary Kayak Race

The Maritime 10th Anniversary Kayak Race is in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Ortoire River Race but this event will be hosted in Williams Bay, Chaguaramas on Saturday 6th May 2023.

There are two main races – the long course is 12km and the short course is 6km and will be conducted within Williams Bay.

Races will commence promptly at 8am so participants are requested to sign in between 6-7:15 am. Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate.

Registration opens on 20th February and closes on 22nd April or earlier depending on availability of kayaks.
Fees are $100 per adult (18+ years), $50 per youth (17 and under).

Boat rental fees: Single surf skis/sit insides – $100, single sit-on-tops and recreational boats are $50 and double sit-on-tops are $80. (Book early to ensure your choice of boat.) Email mwongchong@gmail.com for your registration form and rules.

Trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of both races; medals and prizes for various categories (including single recreational, doubles, women’s, youth, and this year a Teams category).

Complimentary T-shirts will be given to all participants. Trophies, medals, prizes and T-shirts are compliments of our title sponsor, the Maritime Financial Group.

The winner of the long course will receive two tickets to Barbados and the winner of the short course will receive two tickets to Tobago.

Fun kayak events for the whole family start at 10am. Free to the general public. Small kayaks will be available for children.
This event is hosted by the Trinidad Kayak Club and sanctioned by the Trinidad & Tobago Canoeing and Rowing Federation.

In preparation for the event there will be three warm-up races in Chaguaramas on 25th March, 15th and 29th April at 7:00am.

These are optional but they do prepare you for the actual event… the registration fee is $20 and $50 is your recreational boat rental fee for each race.
