Blue Basin Waterfall Hike

🌟DESCRIPTION and RATING:
Join us as we head to Blue Basin, located in Deigo Martin.
Rating – Blue Basin is a very easy hike, a family-friendly event. The walk to the actual waterfall is about 5 minutes.

There are 2 ratings for this event
1- The first is easy(1 out of 10), a 5 minute walk straight to Blue Basin Waterfall(includes a 2 minute hill prior to the trail and 3 minutes to the waterfall).
2- The second option(6 out of 10 and is optional) is to go above Blue Basin Falls. Persons will be screened on the morning for this option as it involves a very difficult climb along the side of the waterfall.

💲 COST:
TT$80.00 per person.
TT$50.00 for children 12 and under (no children under the age of 5/children who cannot walk on their own are allowed nor elderly persons who are not physically active)
– PLEASE NOTE that there is an additional $20.00 parking fee per vehicle
Please note that our hikes DO NOT include transportation.

📅 ASSEMBLY INFO:
Meeting point – 7:30 am at the KFC by Westmoorings(Opposite Superpharm). Here is a google map location of the meeting point https://maps.app.goo.gl/HkrRWbRdZZjkB1Gw8 Our leaders will arrive at 7:30am and do registration until 8am. If you will arrive AFTER 8:00am, please call 350-5857/365-0771 to indicate as we leave promptly at 8. Our hike leaders will be wearing orange jerseys saying “Outdoor Explorers TT”.

🚗VEHICLE SECURITY/PERSONS REQUIRING TRANSPORT:
• Someone will oversee all vehicles once we are hiking. We will not leave vehicles unattended.

📞 CONTACT INFO/PRE-REGISTRATION:
For safety reasons due to group size we ask that all persons contact us to register. To register, you must send the AMOUNT of persons that will be attending and their FULL NAMES as well 1 contact number. If you are a first time hiker can you indicate this as well. This is so that in the event that we cancel a hike, all persons can be properly notified.(Please note that persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian).

Our hike team has years of experience hiking on various types of terrain and are well equipped to handle various situations that may arise. Safety is our number 1 priority, persons who have various safety questions are asked to contact us via the numbers listed. Our hiking team has the following for your safety:

-Saftey Equipment
-Security for parked vehicles
-First Aid Certified hike leaders

✍CHECKLIST:
Are you a first-time hiker? Here is a checklist to prepare for our hikes:
-Bottled water
-Food/Snacks
-A change of clothing for when you return that will be left in your vehicles
-Plastic bags for wet clothes
-Walk with a backpack that ensures all items you bring can fit. Your hands should be free throughout the hike to help you navigate the terrain
-wearing long socks above ankle height to protect against bush scrapes/bugs is encouraged, but not mandatory
-Shoes are required, no slippers or sandals
-Insect repellent
-Walk with any necessary medication.
– Avoid wearing jewelry that may become entangled in bushes
